A NOTE about RON ECKERMAN

Houston, TX. USA, friends, Please SHARE!
Ron's friend since his teenage years Jeff Dunham is not able to donate white blood cells for Ron - but he cares about him so much he is offering the first 10 people who are approved by MD Anderson and who donate white blood cells $100 bucks apiece for your time and trouble!!!
What an amazing friend and a true act of Christian kindness!
Just to reiterate in case you didn't see previous posts, this is for a specific infection that Ron has that isn't going away and he can't fight it because he has no white blood cells and he needs other peoples' white blood. I've received a lot of questions about this so I'll try to be clear what this is about - this is for a specific infection, it doesn't matter what your blood type is, it just matters if you have any previous cancers or blood disorders, if so then unfortunately you won't be eligible.
I WILL POST EVERYTHING I CAN RIGHT HERE TO LET YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO, and the links are in previous posts, because I'm with Ron in the hospital room 24/7 and it's hard to answer the phone and explain all this (bad phone reception at the hospital, too).
Ok, so here goes. For those who want to donate, it is NOT like a blood drive for the hospital - Ron specifically gets your white blood cells - and it's not like giving whole blood or platelets. It's a little bit more of a process. it doesn't matter what your blood type is, and it must be done at MD Anderson in Houston. Here is how it works:
1. Call 713-792-7777 to set an appointment, ask for a WHITE BLOOD CELL SCREENING for RON ECKERMAN, Patient number 1019277.
2. When you go for your screening appointment, it will take about 2 hours. They will ask if you took Tylenol or Aleve or aspirin, or anything like that in the previous 48 hours. They won't let you do your screening unless it's been more 48 hours. First step is platelet donation to make sure you can do the process of taking your whole blood, separating it out, and giving you back your blood. Ron is getting platelets regularly so he will be able to get your platelets as well since it's all done under his patient ID number.
3. They contact you later that day or the next day to let you know if you are eligible to donate. If you are, they will have you come back and get the injection to take that evening for the actual white blood cell donation the next day. Yes, it requires a shot. No one likes needles, but it's helping prolong a very sweet man's life. The shot makes your body make extra white blood cells. The next day will be donation day.
4. So, yes it does require coming up to the hospital 3 times in a few days, but your parking is validated at the blood bank, and they are open 7 days a week.
5. When they do the white blood cell donation, they take out your blood, separate the white blood cells, and then put your blood back in you, and they take your white blood cells and Ron gets them within 24 hours.
Again, WHITE BLOOD CELLS don't have a "type", so it doesn't matter what the blood type is, and yes, it has to be done at MD Anderson. This is a new thing, they are only doing this at 3 hospitals in the United States.
I have to get off the computer for a while but I will check later tonight if you have any questions at all.
THANK YOU Jeff Dunham, you are an amazing friend!
