New online photo and location service Picplz, being developed by imeem execs Dalton Caldwell and Bryan Berg, is still far from being fully perfected. People who are determined to get an early look at the new service will soon have a way to do so,if they have an Android phone.

picplz is as a photo-based foursquare. A simple publishing tool for a photo stream as similar to Twitpic or Posterous. You access the service via a mobile device. Picplz is integrated tightly with Foursquare to assign a location to your photo and then check in. Your photos are then published on the Picplz site. Optionally, Twitter and Facebook publishing is coming soon.

SwingVine has a public/private option. I do like that!' I do not see any user/member interactive as a community?, as might be at Picplz I established an account, with a privatized option. I respect what this Dream Team created as iMeem.The past histories of what I have publicly read, as the founding music communities of their prior involvement. The burial of Imeem, and Members sold off as pawns to increase MySpace, in web search traffic results, was a trade-elation. Spading cross a wide field of web music search. The AKA Dream Team were kept on at MySpace as paid consultants during the transition. I do feel The Dream Team turned their backs on our public best interest. I myself am concerned about the vagueness of the New PicPlz present, possible future privacy policy agreement, & terms. Public or Not The uploaded content is not the only concerns.

ReplyDeleteYou seem to be mistaken regarding picplz. picplz is designed to be a public site, like a blog or twitter page. It's a public website for public sharing. If people do not want to post their pics publicly, this is not the site for them.
As of yesterday, you can see all of the pics on the site by design. The only thing restricted is new user signups, and that won't be for long. Here are some pics that users have been tweeting out:

Also, "the sh-tshow dreamteam" thing is a joke. It's our way of referencing the unfortunate end that imeem met. You are not the only person to be unhappy with the way things ended at imeem. Sometimes humor is the only way to deal with big disappointments.
To the extent that the death of imeem caused the problems that I know it did, there is not anything I can do at this point but offer my sincere apologies and move on with my professional career.
